You brain is highly parallel with about 100 billion neurons connected in specific ways to each other and functioning as an organic whole progammed by evolution over millions of years.
A computer is a small 1 processor computing element. If you took the internet and compared it to the human brain, there are not 100 billion computers connected to each other, and there is no program such as your consciousness that can run on that network even if it was.
The human brain in a fraction of a second can recognize patterns that it would take a computer hours to figure out, and need to be programmed for, but a computer can beat most humans at chess and can work much harder and faster at many simple jobs.
Brains also process and learn ... so far,, computers cannot modify their own programming. Computers cannot love or haver orgasms either! But so far they have not killed each other either ;-)

Computers operate by strict logical conventions, whereas the human mind operates vis-a-vis associational logic. An example of this is the apple. We think of the shape, color, texture, smell, etc. But to a computer, an apple is described literally by certain word definitions. Obviously, a computer cannot smell or see an apple, but it can describe one from the data in its database.
