Force yourself to be with friends and do something you enjoy. Do things, don't mope around.
If the depression just won't go away, you might consider seeing a therapist and being evaluated for medications that might be helpful.
I hope you feel better.

For a quick solution, try watching a movie or show that always makes you laugh (Seinfeld works for me), or listen to a comedy CD.
For a long term solution, find people who you can talk to if you don't already have someone. I know that can be easier said than done. School or work are good places to start. If that doesn't work, I would highly recommend volunteering. You will find that it will help you emotionally in many ways, in addition to introducing you to new people.
I hope this helps a little.

For me, I go hiking, go shopping and cook a nice meal, call a friend, play the drums, or try to sleep.
Exercise seems to be the best thing, though, for me. It's the toughest, I wonder if that is why it is so rewarding!!!

Whatever religion you believe in do you pray ? Just go away into solitude with a religious book and pray with your mind focussed on the Almighty. In the beginning you may find it absolutely ridiculous, but dear friend I myself was on the verge of commiting suicide, got a "U" turn in my life due to prayers. God Bless You
