Social Anxiety. It's a medical thing, not a psychological thing. There's very effective medication for social anxiety. As a nurse, I highly recommend that you discuss this with your physician because the results are amazing and meaningful. Good luck.

this happens because of these causes. A. shyness complex. B. anxiety C traumatic experiences you had in your child hood. when we are in anxiety mood, we could not talk to others freely, we have to stutter and stammer, though there is no organically disease. people who develop shyness complex, can not talk freely, because it obstructs a person to utter words freely.if some body laughs at us or mocks at us, it prevents us from talking freely with a fear that we shall have to face the same traumatic situation. get rid of all those inhibitions, start talking first in front of a mirror, thinking that there are thousands of people listening to it.even Demosthenes, one of the greatest orators of Greek, who could not talk freely due to stammering and stuttering, overcame this , and practiced talking when he was alone thinking that there are millions of people listening to him. you need not worry at all. you are no way inferior to others.some people may laught at us when we start talking, but that should not prevent us from freely talking.after some time, they will recognize your communication skills and begin admiring you.first you talk to your parents, then, siblings, then your close friends, then your neighbors. you give auto suggestions that you are not going to stammer whenever you begin talking. even if you could not get success, contact a good speech therapist. wish you all the best.

you're anxious or nervous. i used to stutter and shiver a little when i was a teenager, what helped me was SLOWING DOWN and thinking through everything I was going to say before I said it. I bet this doesn't happen around everybody though? There are probably people who don't make you nervous with whom you can practice speaking very slowly and thoughtfully (they don't have to know!) and then you can work your way up to strangers at parties, etc. Practice, practice, practice.

You may be hyperventilating. Breathe slower and shallower. Breathe through your nose while taking a break from speaking. You may have anxiety about not being heard or listened to. That was my fear when I had the same symptoms.

I think you need some sort of speaking training. Try personal development books and videos.
