If you don't use a tag on electronic tollways, is it possible to beat the camera without covering your number plates? Do tollway cameras only have a limited amount of shots that they can take before the film is changed, or are photo's taken digitally?

I had temporary paper plates on my car while going through a toll highway over five years ago. I was driving the car from British Columbia through a toll highway in Ontario to my home in Nova Scotia. Still haven't received the bill...

there are plate covers that leave the plate visibly legible, but are not readable to cameras at an angle. only way ive heard of
