I was not required to see a judge or pay a fine. Is this being "convicted of a crime?" on job applications?

Get in touch with the court system or have your lawyer contact them- see if it is on your record. Your lawyer could best answer this question but I believe the answer is no- you were not convicted of anything but detained till released. Good luck.

If you were not charged with a crime, given a hearing, and then a trial and found or pleaded guilty and sentenced, then you are not convicted of a crime.

They let you go ... did they give you any charge or a date to come back for a hearing?

Bottom line is that it may not be over if you did not understand what was happening.

Unless you were actually convicted meaning Judge and fine then no it is not a conviction! If nothing was in writing then No it is not considered a crime!

AFAIK it's common for police to not charge those they tank. The police tank people for their own safety and to keep drunks off the street, not for the sake of punishment. So usually if you don't mouth off to the cops, etc. they just turn you loose in the morning and that's the end of it.

No. They just let you sleep it off. You were lucky. Don't ever mention it again.
