I think this is some type of old Asian custom. They shave a baby's head at one year old to make it grow in thicker and stronger. I seriously doubt this works--your baby had his hair pattern/thickness/waviness/straightness, etc. genes from the time he was conceived, and shaving it to make it grow in thicker is an old wives tale. This being said, we actually shaved our second son's hair (with my husband's clippers and the #3 guard on them) at one year old, give or take a few weeks. We did this because his hair was growing into a mullet (LOL) and was starting to look pretty unruly. It was getting into this eyes, growing down the nape of his neck, and bothering him. He hated the clippers (scared him), but it worked. I don't know if it grew back thicker or not--it's been about 4 months now and it's definitely grown back, but it looks pretty much the same to me. Maybe a *little* thicker, but that could be because he's getting older and his hair is starting to thicken naturally. His older brother was a little cue ball from birth and didn't have the first strand of hair until he was nearly 18 months old. Now he's got a full head of thick, curly blonde hair. (We didn't do anything to it--it just grew in that way.) My younger son's hair is very fine and straight--reminds me of corn silk. :) As far as using an actual razor blade--I wouldn't do that at all. Likely that he/she will be nicked in the process.

You should talk to someone who specializes in cutting a baby's hair; I've never heard of shaving a baby's head to help the hair grow thicker...just check with a hairdresser.

Don't shave your baby's head. Trust me, it will fall out soon enough. Nothing will make your baby's hair grow thicker, it is genetics!

That is a myth
Don't shave her head it will grow in over time to whatever thickness it will eventually be...
Shaving your babys head could also result in a razor nick or cut which would irritate babys skin and could potentially leave a scar or get infected...

Once they have almost a full head of at least short peach fuzz hair. I ended up, by accident, using a very short trimmer head on my son when he was 3 months old and his hair grows very quickly and is really thick as has been since I did it. You don't need to shave the head just use the smallest trimming blade you have for your clippers...you wouldn't want to accidentally nic or cut the baby's head.

The hair is not just a part of your body and it is a symbol of beauty, status and health. It is important for you to take proper care of your health in order to prevent early hair loss. Learn here https://bitly.im/aMKv9 It is not a very serious problem and with a little bit of caution you will be able to prevent further hair loss. There are certain uncontrollable factors like pregnancy conditions or certain illness or genetic factors that will result in hair loss. But, this does not mean that you cannot do something about your hair loss.

That will happen eventually on its own, you don't have to shave the child's head!

its a lie that shaving any hair makes it come back thicker, it only seems thicker cause the ends are shaped different after they have been cut
