7w + 42 = 6w + 12
7w - 6w = 12 - 42
1w = -30
therefore w = -30. Good times!

Hi, it is a simple one,
you can solve it as follows:
7*6 + 7*w = 6*2 + 6*w
42 + 7w = 12 + 6w
7w - 6w = 12 - 42
1w = -30
that implies: w = -30

this one is relatively easy. You have to first distribute the 7 to (6+w) and the 6 to (2+w). This gives you 42+7w=12+6w. Now to get the variable (w) on each side, subtract 6w from both sides (because the 6w is less than 7w). now you have 42+w=12. Subtract 42 from both sides to get w alone. w= -30.

first multipoly the ( ) away
42 + 7w = 12 + 6w
next move the w to the left and the numbers to the right side of the = sign
7w - 6w = 12 - 42. NB the sign changes for the term that moves ________________to the other side
adn finally ...
7w-6w = w
w = 12-42 = -30
thus w = -30
these problems are always the same

7(6+w) = 6(2+w)
simplify
7*6 + 7*w = 6*2 + 6*w
take similar to one side
7*w - 6*w = 6*2 - 7*6
w = 12 - 42
w = -30

I've got W=-30. Equation then balances out on -168.
7(6+w)=6(2+w)
42+7w=12+6w
42-12=-7w+6w
30=-w
-30=w
It would be infinitely better if you understand why and not get other people to do your home work.

While the P-38 was a fine aircraft, there were many others as well. With the many aces, it would be difficult to name just one as the best pilot of WW II. Some aircraft were used in one theater and not another. The P-38 was used in the Pacific Theater as was the Corsair, P-47 Thunderbolt, Grumman Hellcat, Douglas Dive bomber; etc., while the Eurpopean Theater had the P-41, P-47, and most notably, the North American P-51 Mustang. With the introduction of the P-51 into the European Theater, mainly to provide air cover for the bombers, bomber and crew losses were cut by over 60%.
