I wore uniforms in school so my family didn't buy me a lot of nice clothes and I never had any pretty sweaters. Some girl got my name in a Christmas name exchange, and she bought me the prettiest yellow exact fitting sleveless knitted sweater that I'd ever seen and I just couldn't get over how pretty it looked and I was just overjoyed to receive it.

My senior year of high school, I got the best gift I can remember. My parents had gone on for a month about how money was really tight that year and the older kids would not be getting much (I was the second oldest of 8 children). I totally understood. One Christmas morning, I watched everyone open their gifts. My Mom handed me a box and as I opened it I saw a set of car keys, air freshener, floor mats, a visor mirror and two cup holders.
I had gotten my first car!!! It was parked outside in the driveway waiting for me! Although it was a $400.00 Omni...I LOVED it! I still tell my Mom how awesome that made me feel to this day!

when my kids were younger after they opened their gifts we went downtown where they have this big church for people to come get gifts eat dinner etc. i always signed us all up as their were volunteer opportunities for any age my gift was watching them say Merry Christmas to homeless or those with less than them and see they meant it and the joy the other people got conversing with my kids nothing is better than giving from your heart that's where true gifts come from it's not the price of the gift but the meaning even if it is just your time. my 8 year old grandson will go for his 1st time this year

When I was seven, my mom gave me this huge tub of gummy bears :) For me, that was the best ever. My face just lit up and I absolutely felt the Christmas spirit :D
