I can see that too. I am not a Pats fan but they do look tough this year. They put a smack down on my Packers and they looked good the next week against the cubs, I mean the bears. Even though they lost to the colts at home, they could still lay a ho slap on Peyton and win in the playoffs.

Without Belichick and Brady this would be a 5-6 team instead of an 8-3 one. They deserve respect for the way they continually play above their true talent level as a team. But this will not save them in the playoffs.

They are going to get severely knocked around in the first round of the playoffs by a team like SD, Denver or KC, then IF they manage to win, (and I won't be putting any money on it) then they will face a well-rested Colts or Ravens team.

Manning is running so much more of the Colts offence that you can no longer take for granted a Dungy Playoff Meltdown this year. They have about a 20% possibility of taking out the Colts. If they meet the Ravens they are in much worse problems. Billick doesn't have Playoff Meltdowns and the way the Ravens played yesterday against the Steelers, the best Pats team in history would have had a problem beating them! Give them a 5% chance of taking the Purple Crows out in the playoffs.

I am a huge Patriots fan but have a more realistic view of my team's long term chances. Yes they beat a tough Bears team, but coughed up the ball 5 times in doing it. They had 5 turnovers against the Colts earlier this year too, and last year in the playoffs had 4 picks aginst Denver. So I see a trend that takes place against the better teams, and playoffs is all about that - playing good teams, and they have to play cleaner if they are to have any chance.

They've still got a good team but I must say that playing this incarnation of the Packers might give hope to even the Oakland Raiders to win a Super Bowl. With a guy like Brady, if they even make the playoffs, they are dangerous.

They could. Their defense pretty much shut down the Bears - were it not for a couple of questionable interference calls, they would have held them to 3 points. And even 13 points is a good showing, when you consider the Bears are considered the best NFC team this year. On the other side of the ball, if they can avoid turning the ball over (which is what caused them to lose against Denver last year) they could go far in the playoffs this year.
