i would say it's probably because of the environment they were brought up in. Their parents teach them certain things, and they think that its right. And alot of them are super religious and when people are religious they feel that they dont need to educate themselves because they bible does it for them, or god will make their lives right. White people are the same, you can't just put it on blacks. In the south, there are so many rednecks who still think that black people are subhumans and who are also super religious. Religion is the ******* problem.

The fact that you could make such a generalized statement putting hundreds of thousands of people into the same category of behavior is testimony that YOU are the ignorant and hateful one. And if American people aren't bright, then why is this country the most powerful and influential country in existance?
And as far as excusing any person today's behavior because of the enslavement or wrongdoings of their ancestors hundreds or even thousands of years ago-you are only perpetuating this type of racism and ignorance. HELLO?!?!?!?! What about Indians, and Jews, and Israelites-black people were not the worst of it by a long shot, so get over it already. It had nothing to do with any of us alive today. Read some books people. It's exercise for the brain.

Since when did hatred and ignorance receive color? These are things that plague us all, Ignorance comes from a lack of education, life experiences, and environment. Hate comes from some of those same afflictions and circumstances. I would advise you to find somewhere to meet educated and nice black people and reevaluate your thoughts on the matter, and by the way I am Black and I do not consider myself ignorant, or hateful, and yes I am ghetto risen. However my life experiences along with my choice of friends and my education level is what stops me from being labeled Ghetto and ignorant, but when I am in the hood I am hood when I am amongst educated people black or white I have acquired the ability to get on that level as well. I hope this answers a little bit of your question, I can't give you an answer to it's entirety because I am not all black people in America nor do I fall under the percentage that you are speaking of.

I don't agree that the black americans are ignorant as a whole. I think it is a subculture of black americans who are ignorant. Case in point ... there have been a lot of very intelligent answers from African American respondants, but then you have to throw one ignorant response by that ignoramus who calls herself Brat8170( or whatever her name is). She is a good example of the subculture of which I am speaking. I cross paths with many black americans everyday and most of them are really awesome, respectful and kind, wonderful people. So i don't think it is fair to the african american race as a whole to assume they are ignorant when in reality it is just a fraction of them. Also it isn't fair to assume that most Americans aren't intelligent. Please don't blame us because we have an idiot in office. He is not a good representative of what most Americans are like either. America is a very diverse country, but our population is no different than any other. Every country has their fair share of people who "aren't very bright" including yours where ever that may be. But it wouldn't be fair to your country to assume that most people are one thing or another. That would be pretty ignorant in itself, don't you think? ...................And to brat8170.........WE didn't "slave you" as you put it. That would be the colonials all of who are dead now. Also keep in mind that although Black slaves were the most common, there were native American, European, and white american slaves too. Also, you need to realize that slavery still exists in the very country in which your ancestors came, only this time it is the natives selling their own children into slavery, so be careful what you are calling the pot, Kettle. These people live in houses made of sticks and rags, die in the million annually, of diseases such as Aids, polio, and maleria, which by the way many are in fact treatable. They can't get treatment because they dont have access to proper medical care. They don't have indoor plumbing, cell phones, cars, air conditioning or any of the other luxuries that YOU take for granted. They are dying of starvation from famine and drought. So maybe you should stop bitching at us for things that WE had no control over and put that anger to a more productive use and maybe help these people instead of complaining about how bad you have it in America because you didn't choose to come here. None of have. We are here as the result of our forefathers' actions. Oh wait, you're"very educated",you knew that already though your spelling, grammer, and phrases among other things in your answer say otherwise. Your answer sure as hell didn't sound "very educated.

Wow! Racist and judgemental stereotyping in one "question" and I use the term loosely since your intent is obviously to make a statement rather than ask a question.

I know many Black people who are very nice, educated, and intelligent. I can understand your confusion, since people tend to gravitate toward people like themselves, with similar levels of dysfunction. The Black people you know are probably more on your level and would appear comparatively ignorant.

By saying that most Americans (should have capitalized that by the way) aren't very bright, you introduce a variable that would question if your belief that Black people are ignorant and hateful is because they are Black, or because they are Americans. After all, you also said that Black people in other countries are for the most part "nice people." In this manner, you contradicted yourself within your own argument.

Would you like to continue discussing ignorance in light of your inability to establish a sound argument, or make clear what it is you are so hatefully saying? :o)

Best Wishes,

Sue

Most people from other countries believe that their country is the best and people from all other countries aren't very bright. I'm not black but it sounds like you are really resentful of people that you don't think are up to your standards.

The thing I still can't understand is how everyone thinks Americans are the worst most arrogant stupid people in the world, but somehow they want what we all have. Jealous is what comes to mind. You don't have it, want it, can't have it, so put everyone down who does have it.

I feel sorry for the people who have to put others down to make themselves feel better. That would be you. Sorry better luck next time.
Most black people in the U.S. are just as nice and normal as everyone else.

I don't think it's matter of color-- ignorance apply to all who embrace it. I see a lot of black people who are courteous, very well mannered, generous and kind. There probably is a good percentage of Americans who are not so bright. It's an opinion and statistics too. There are diffrent levels of intelligences. When others are compared to the level where they don't belong, will surely appear not so bright. I just hope that when we draw opinions of others it is done away from ignorance.

What exactly are you asking? You make one racial assumption, and then follow it with saying American's aren't very bright. Maybe the problem is your very ignorant, and can't live with yourself because certain racial groups remind you of your ignorance. If that's the case that's your problem, and get over it whine whine whine...That's all ignorant people do anymore they got a problem they can't seem to do anything about it, but moan. What a chump!

Not only are some black people ignorant and hateful, so are some people of all other groups of Americans. The reason is, they are unhappy, something is going on with them and their relationship with the Lord isn't what it should be. If anyone has a close relationship with the Lord, happy is he and he is filled with love, not anger and he is not ignorant.

I don't think all black people are ignorant and hateful here in the U.S. but I think the reason that the few that are ignorant and hateful is because of their long history associated with the U.S.

What do you base your generalizations on? I could be wrong since you have met most of the blacks in the US and have found them to be ignorant and hatefulI, but it seems to me that you may have a personal issue with blacks that has clouded your judgement and allowed you to place all of them in one particular group.
