Blue is the color that reflects off snow in early evening and before dawn. Its a comfort thing. People want that color reflecting off their homes to let their visitors know they are welcome.

I have never heard that blue lights are displayed in memory of loved ones that have passed, but it is a touching thought.
My son died 7 years ago and the Compassionate Friends have a candle lighting ceremony each year that is world wide. It will be held on Sunday December 10th this year. Here is some info on TCF and the candle lighting: http://www.compassionatefriends.org/2006_WCL/2006_WCL_Intro.htm

I'm not sure about the memory of loved ones, but I do know that blue and white are Channukah colours. Buildings in New York are often lit with blue for the Holiday season for this reason.

In our town (in Canada) we have a large Christmas tree in our local park that is decorated with all blue bulbs, it is a memory tree and donations are made in memory of loved ones and more bulbs are added every year. It is lit near the first of December and there is a short ceremony. It is well attended and getting bigger every year.

I've never heard of them in memory of loved ones, but that's not a bad idea. I always thought that it was because snow is sometimes blue-white. I don't know, it's pretty too!

Did Internet search the different colors have to do with the bible.
Yellow is for his light touch, Red is for his blood, Blue for baptism, and Green to go forth.

I've never heard that one either. I think it's just a matter of personal preference - just like those that only use white or red lights.

It potential he has prevalent you into his kin and basically thinks of you as a sister. it rather is a sturdy element, he trusts you and believes you and his brother would be mutually for a lengthy time. My boyfriends mum calls me her daughter in regulation.
