If you are in the States, I believe you mean the Democrats. Liberal is a political standpoint, like conservative. Republican & Democrat are actually political parties.

Sure, there are people who think on their own, only none of them are career politicians.

There are those that may suggest that politicians shouldn't think on their own, they do have to take the concerns of their own constituents in mind. But that's the happy-love-the-world-i'm-not-cynical answer.

Ultimately all decisions are made based on the money. Who's given it, who's giving it, and how much each politician needs.

The democrats, having now gained control of Congress, at least have a better chance of putting to fruition all the crap they've been slinging about the management of the war for the last few years so we'll see

I hope so, but...... "Liberal" does not mean Democrat. The term is hollow, really. Now, it just means anti-Bush/war.

I liked a lot of the Green Party, myself. I agree on the point that they (Dem. and Rep.) all seem to be flinging mud out of a sandbox in Kinderegarten.

I think most of the libs and repubs are scumbags. Just take what you like from the libs and from the repubs and make up your own mind. Become an independent.
