It is a known tactic of terrorism to enflame conflict.

Terrorists do this in Iraq, getting Sunnis and Shiites to masacre each other over the claim of who are the "true" muslims. Even when they know foreign-born terrorists set off a bomb, the resulting frustration at being unable to retaliate against those who actually did it, causes each side to lash out against fellow Iraqis.

To a lesser degree, I see the same seeds at work here on YA. Americans not just disagreeing with each other ... but Americans expressing open *hatred* for other Americans. The most recent thing is this accusation by each side, that the terrorists wanted the other side to win the election ... the terrorists did what they could to feed this idea.

In fact, they don't give a crap who wins, as long as the fight is nasty and bitter.

So, next time you find yourself launching acid at the "Demorats" or those "Repuglicans" ... back off. Debate ideas, don't attack people.

That's what Americans do. Isn't it?

Common Sense: Thanks for providing an illustration of what I'm talking about. First, I doubt it was "terrorists" dancing in the street ... terrorists don't dance in streets ... they dance in their caves. Second, you wrote: "And as an American, I am supposed to make nice and like it ?" YES ... that's what you do in a democracy. Sometimes you're in the majority (like you were for the last 12 years), sometimes you're not ... your guy loses (and the other guy is a lying bastard) ... but yes, you deal with it. I don't blame you for feeling bitter ... I know what that feels like ... but don't ever forget that the people who elected that lying bastard are fellow Americans. Pick yourself up. Wait for them to do something you disagree with, and then carp away. But don't *hate* them.

I am not really commenting on what you say because I don't fully understand what is going on in America. I just wanted to say that "divide and conquer" is a very well established tactic not exclusive to terrorists.

U.S. voters have spoken without undue influence from abroad. The U.S. Constitution is the law of the land. The voters stood up to oppose an Executive Branch that wants to put the Constitution through a paper shredder. Fortunately, the U.S. voters woke up before it's too late. The question has nothing to do with "the terrorists." The real issue is a White House that should be impeached for "High Crimes and Treason" against the People of the United States. Let the House & Senate hearings begin.

Americans from one political party have been bashing Americans from the other political party since we first became "Americans". The terrorists didn't cause this.

If you want to blame somebody for the partisan name-calling and cheap antics, blame the British for their partisan ways. We did the first time, and we won. However, King George III may be hard to contact...
