On Happiness:
An old dog came across a pup wildly chasing his tail, and said to him,
"Son, why do you chase your tail so?" The young dog paused a moment,
and then replied, "Well sir, I've just found out that, being a dog, happiness
is in my tail. Therefore, I figure if I catch my tail, I will have happiness..... "
The wise old dog nodded and said, "In my youth, I too, pondered on the
wonders of the universe, and determined that a dog's happiness can be
found in his tail. However, over the years, I have also discovered that as I
go on about the business of life, my happiness follows me everywhere -
and, even during the most difficult of times, it's always somewhere right
behind me."

A friend told me this cute little story a long time ago. Sadly, I don't recall it
word for word, but the main idea is in there. Most likely, it's not the answer
you're looking for, but, since your question brought it to mind, I thought it
would be a good time to share it anyway.

It lies or speaks the truth, It does perform, If it slips it confides in adolescence, in your case it wont slip, if it confides and you cannot ascertain where it lies . I think happiness for you would lie in your dreams so just take a good sleep and see a beautiful dream you will be happy the next day. Dont snore over your dreams.

It lies in the mind, between the eyes.... Where all emotions are controlled...... There, it sees things coming in, and is able to respond to it, it feels what it is, and knows instinctively what to do.....

It is the heart that takes things at face value... to let the heart rule the mind is to allow ones self to be deceived.......

Happiness, therefore, is a state of mind!!!

if u ask a child it will day happiness lies in chocolate. if u ask a grown up youth he will say beteween the thighs. if u ask a middle aged man he will say happiness lies in bank deposit. if u ask an old man he will say it lies in the confort they receive duly. HAPPINESS LIES IN THE SACRIFICE. LOVE AND SYMPATHY U SHOW TO THE SUFFERING. WHEN THE SUFFER IS RELIEVED OF HIS SUFFERINGS BY U. U FEEL THE HAPPINESS ABOVE ALL ABOVE.

Good question .... one standard answer that it is just a state of mind does not really help much.

Happiness lies in acceptance. If one can accept everything as it is, there would be no cause for unhappiness.

Our ego does not allow us to accept as things come to happen, it wants us to make them happen. And even when we do make something happen, our ego gets further bloated and then wants something else to be made to happen.

It is not possible to absolutely rise beyond our ego. What we can only do is to try and minimise its influence on us. In this context, I find it very useful to keep reminding myself how small I am in relation to this vast and varied universe ...... that reduces the proud desire to change everything to my liking rather than adapt to however they are...... allows me to accept a lot of it all as it is. But of course, it just helps in the degree of acceptance and is not foolproof in itself either. Perhaps there is no foolproof formula at all!!

I think it lives in the heart and minds of those who think as much about others as they do about themselves.. it is true, there is more happiness in giving than in receiving.... If I was very wealthy in monetary terms I know I would get a real kick out of giving most of it away because that would bring me much joy.

Happiness exists everywhere and for ever. It's like Sunlight. Dark (frustration) is nothing but the ab sense of light.

True happiness lies within you. If you are not truely happy with who you are it tends to affect everything and everyone else in your life.
