how do I play a karaoke cd on my pc using my media players and get the same results as if playing the karaoke cd on a karaoke machine you find at the bars?

You simply need the right CD-ROM drive and the right software player.

To display the graphics (images and lyrics) on your monitor your CD-ROM drive must be able to read the "subchannel data" from a CD+G disc. All Plextor, most Sony, and some other drives have this capability.

There are several software CD+G players available. Power CD+G Player Pro and WinCDG Pro are two of the more popular applications.
