With a brown shirt...either black or white...i wouldn't use any of the other colors, it wouldn't look right...other than orange, because browns go really well with orange. Generally though, Brown is a hard color to mix with others.

I would not wear the blues with a brown shirt - it all depends on the shades of the colors and if they compliment each other and if the shirt is a print, strip or solid
It is really hard to say without seeing the shirt
Brown shirts do go well with black if they are light brown or if the tie's colors bring them together

Personally, I don't think any of these colors would look good with a brown shirt. I would be more inclined to have a suit that is beige, tan, or brown to go with the brown shirt. Sorry.

well how about a lighter color of brown. Or be bold and Do YELLOW. Brown is a hard color. however it is one of my favorites. All the colors that you have said would be a no for me however it depends on the shade of the suit and the shade of the shirt. It must be something special. As long as you have a great smile and attitude about yourself No one will notice what you are wearing as long as its not your birthday suit... Have Fun!!!

Brown shirts are typically a fashion flaw with a suit, but I think you can make it work. I like characoal, since it has brown undertones. Avoid navy unless you want to look like an extra on the cast of "Brokeback Mountain" ^_^!
