Why is it that most quiet people i've come across tend to be brilliant, not only in their way of reasoning, but their logic as well?

Quiet people will talk only when they have something to say. They listen a lot, understand more than you think and they are generally capable of explaining complicated stuff in just a couple of sentences so that anyone can understand it. Because they talk less people pay more attention to what they say. And because they think before they talk the message comes out clear, concise and logic. So, it's not that we are smarter than other people but we generally appear so, since we reason in our heads and not out laud. Still, talkative people are seen as much more social and happier persons so to each it's own!

The more you talk, the more you commit a mistake. This is just one of the simple reasons. Quiet people intend to just sit down and meditate than to deal with people and talk about other people’s lives. Bragging what you know if not asked by someone is actually not a way of showing that you are a well known person; you will only make yourself helpless.

Well taking the time to hear other peoples perspectives, and quietly observing things instead of just speaking because it is quiet gives the ability to see a bigger picture. It also gives more time to think out what will be said when you do speak. And if you were wondering yes I am a quiet person, and I thank you for the most generous compliment.

I certainly do not think it only or mostly the quiet people who are like this. Maybe quiet people tend to stick out for you, draw you to them.

Maybe because while they are quiet, it lets them LISTEN...
When your mind is quiet, your reasoning is definitely clear and relaxed.. Brilliant people know when to keep their mouths closed....

Because their ears are bigger than their mouths =) A lot of conversation consists of filler words, which lack substance. There is not much to say when you can articulate yourself well. This being synonamous with brilliance.

Most "loud" people get dragged down by all the consequences of them being opinionated. There are brilliant people in the world who hit high school and just got turned off school all together, the quiet people concentrated on their work and succeed. I was always very loud and was one of the lucky ones who went on to be DUX but so many people said i didn't deserve it only because i didnt fit the label "GEEK".
Its how people are raised as well, parents who influence their children to read and always be polite to people get kids that are academic (sometimes) whereas parents who dont have a positive influence on kids usually get children with low IQ's that are loud and off the rails.
But i was no angel back in school, loud, sometimes bitchy hmm lol :P, told people/teacher exactly what i thought and went to all the wild parents and did everything teens do...however i did extremely well in school.

After awhile, after becoming more and more rational, one finds few people who are comparably rational with whom to converse with. So, they smile and nod and listen.

Because they are listening and learning processing instead of just spouting out.
