I can't believe how many bozos took this question as it was worded, and supplied their candidate words in response.

Seeing that, I am tempted to offer 'swindle' as a one-word response. But that wouldn't really be enough of an answer to the questions hiding under the skirts of your challenge.

There are a lot of those. Should I answer one, just to be polite?

Okay, just the one, though:
