I HAVE READ IN A BOOK THAT IT IS A PROCESSOR ESPECIALLY DESIGNED FOR DECREASING THE GRAPHICS LOAD FROM THE C.P.U. I HAVE ALSO READ IN THE SAME BOOK SOME ARTICLES ABOUT GRAPHICS CARDS.THEN I HAD A DOUBT THAT WHAT WAS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN A G.P.U AND A GRAPHICS CARD OR WHETHER THE G.P.U WAS ONLY CALLED GRAPHICS CARD.SO KINDLY HELP ME IN KNOWING WHAT IS A G.P.U AND A GRAPHICS CARD.

A GPU is a Graphics Processing Unit, like the book said, it is a processor made specially for graphics.

A GPU is a part of a graphics card. A graphics card usually also has its own memory to be used with the GPU instead of the system memory.

And as a note, its considered rude to type in all caps. It's considered yelling online, and can be harder to read.

Graphics Processing Unit or GPU (also occasionally called Visual Processing Unit or VPU) is a dedicated graphics rendering device for a personal computer, workstation, or game console. Modern GPUs are very efficient at manipulating and displaying computer graphics, and their highly parallel structure makes them more effective than typical CPUs for a range of complex algorithms.

A GPU implements a number of graphics primitive operations in a way that makes running them much faster than drawing directly to the screen with the host CPU. The most common operations for early 2D computer graphics include the BitBLT operation (combine two bitmap patterns using a RasterOp), usually in special hardware called a "blitter", and operations for drawing rectangles, triangles, circles, and arcs. Modern GPUs also have support for 3D computer graphics, and typically include digital video-related functions as well.

and one of the several forms of GPU is graphics card, or in other words, graphics card has the gpu present in it, along with others like RAM, etc.
