Is your friend a man or woman? Gay or straight? If you screw around with a good friend you can most likely kiss the friendship goodbye.

Well... it all depends. Perhaps you could ask your friend how she feels about homosexuality. Considering the fierce debate over gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender rights going on nowadays, it's not the hardest topic to bring up.

Once you know her opinion, it's easier to decide what to do. If she's extremely against homosexuality, then... perhaps it's better to get over her. Sorry. It's just that someone who is against homosexuality probably wouldn't be in a homosexual relationship.

If she's neutral, or she supports homosexuality, then I say go for it. Even if she's straight.

It might not be the best method, but... it worked for me. I developed a crush on my best friend (who was female) just a while after breaking up with my boyfriend. She had always been attracted to guys and, of course, considered herself straight, but I went for it anyway. ... Sort of. I figured that if I intended to confess, I'd make it fun. I told her I had a crush on someone, and that she should guess who. She didn't get it 'til three hours later.

At the time, she didn't know what to say, and she was quite embarrassed. (But then, so was I.) But eventually she decided she liked me back, and now we're very happy together.
