accepte the fact that there are some people you can trust and some people you can't.
gently let these people know that they have provem to you that you can't trust them with something basically harmless, and you won't trust them with something serious in the end. The have breached your confidence in them.
If the other classmates hate you, make new ones and move on, live life to the fullest, stay out of the way of someone else learning their own lessons, and pretty soon what goes around comes around.
doesn't seem lik it know, but it will blow over, just don't let them seem you sweat, keep your chin up, have fun and move on.

You shouldn’t have said something like this to anyone. Saying nasty things and then actually getting someone else to say it to someone is a very hurtful thing to do. Best is to apologize with open heart. If you really mean it, it shows that you are of a good character and they should take you back. If not then that means that they don’t deserve a good person like you. Keep the hope alive….

It really sucks to be the one that screwed up. Unfortunately there isn't any sure fire trick to getting over this but what worked for me was making them aware of the real story. Then when a bit of time passed I just started making jokes about myself. Sounds silly but joking around is a great way to get passed such awkward times. You can't make the jokes about anyone other than yourself or perhaps the school principal/dean. Hope it works for you.

You can apologize to the people you hurt. This won't make everybody turn around and all of a sudden like you, but you will gain some people's respect and that is more important than having people like you. Good luck!

even if they knew it was a joke, apologize, and then let it go. If people see your not sweating over it, they'll stop too. Next time think before you start something nasty about someone else.

Everyone says something stupid now and then, so don't be too hard on yourself. Apologize once, sincerely, and if they still hold the grudge, let em' go. Their loss.
Its better to be hated for what you are, than loved for what you are not.
