It is the BCCI which is responsible for this state of affairs. It is not an abrupt happening. It is the culmination of the wrong doings of the BCCI and its committe (the selection). What the coach has to do. You have no fast tracks in the country. You prepare only slow flat pitches wherein people score a lot of runs without much ado.
Good players were not selected by More (Most biased selector) and Vengesarkar is in the same boat. How the team would perform?
Why the Australians perform consistently on any type of surface, against any country and in any country? The simple reason is that they have all type of surfaces to practice on. They are masters in the pull shot which is the only shot (except hook) you can play against rising deliveries. Indian batsmen do not play that shot and when someone tries, he is caught at short mid wicket or square leg. See how Dravid perishs at short mid-wicket and Tendulkar perished at square leg. Each and every player of Australia is very good at the pull shot, Hayden, Langer, Ponting, Gilchrist, Martyn, Symonds, Clarke, Hussey, etc. Any player! Besides that Australian players are taller than Indian batsmen and are at an advantage.
Why Yuvraj and Laxman are successful against fast bowlers and on bouncy foreign pitches? Because they are tall and are good at pull shots.
My only contention is that BCCI should intervene and take decisions:
1. Prepare fast and bouncy pitches (Seek the help of foreign curators from Australia or South Africa)
2. Select Batsmen only on merit who have all the shots in his armoury
3. Forget zone-bias
4. Disallow all the team members in shooting for adds before any series (1 month period)
5. Check for fitness level of all players throughout the year and the Physician should prepare guidelines for each and every player to follow
6. Prepare a team of experts (Former players, coaches with defined responsibility) who would exclusively monitor the technique of the batsmen and bowlers and analyse, improve the flaws.
7. Select promising youngesters from all parts of the country and provide them coaching and other amenities to develop (Do not trust academies like that of More)
This is my exhaustive analysis. I believe in preventive action and not in correction. BCCI is only doing "post mortem" which becomes useless.
I am deeply hurt that players like Sehwag, Tendulkar and Dravid are playing like school boys and getting frustrated. A cricket player and fan to core like me, no longer watches Indian matches.
Now in the present situation, with World cup round the corner, BCCI should select atleast three players for the world cup: Gautum Gambhir, VVS Laxman and Saurav Ganguly.
Mind it the selection of Captain should be reviewed. The way Dravid let the opportunity slip even when SA were 76/6, tells the story that he is strategically poor and not able to make decisions. Let him be happy with his batting and only batting.

I will strongly blame the players only for the debacle. I think that it is high time BCCI take some harsh and bold decisions to force the players to come out of comfort zone and earn their money by
performing better. This will be possible by linking their payment to their performance. Once the players know that their payment is not guaranteed and subject to performance every player will struggle hard to put up better performance.

Sacking is very important.
but what is then?
Important is the
CAPABILITY
RESPONSILITY
ACCONTABILITY.
All these will come ONLY-IF
Selection and benefit / payment of
BCCI
SELECTOR
COACH
CAPTAIN
PLAYERS
are linked to performance in the respective capacity.
FOR EXAMPLE Shri RAHUL
1) is a great TEST PLAYER, can play for TEST but not ODI. What he scored in last ODI, he tried to be retain in the team. In ODI total score by INDIVIDUAL along with rate of score is very very important. He can never play fast. Therefore he shall not be choosen for ODI.
2) South Africa was 6 out with 75 runs. Still he could not control upto scoring 277. He is the worst CAPTAIN.
He shall not be choosen for CAPTAINCY.
Then who is CAPTAIN?
Choose some better capable. If connot be select the best player of one ODI as CAPTAIN in the next Match.

Three consecutive innings of less then 25 runs and a new team player sitting idle gets a chance. You may be Tendulkar, Dravid, Viru, Kaif, Yuvi or whoever....similarly...three consecutive matches of 30+ runs/wicket with more then 5 runs/over and another balling pall needs to be cropped in. Coaches are only required to augment skills in training camps and domestic matches only. Team management should be all veteran players. India needs to have top 100 players competing in domestic cricket all the times with ten teams. Domestic cricketers skills in balling, batting and wicket keeping needs to be augmented with MRF academy and a new academy to play short rising balls to augment quick reflexes needs to be provided. Will any of the failed performances of Indian cricket team, not accept their fees? Will they even apologize for their failures, after assurances? Lack of responsibility with sport of cricket is affecting this sport. Importance of this sport compared to other sports needs to be decreased.

lol just because they lost doesnt mean all have to be kicked out!!!! if guys like tendulkar and dravid are having trouble facing the SA quick bowlers....then no one in india can play them!!! i think ur bowling attack is pretty useless....they need someone to bowl about 140kmph consistenly that can do a brett lee or shane bond!!!! u have too many swing bowlers...agarkar is a very expensive bowler.....surely with 1 billion population u must have a bowler that can bowl over 140kmph...and greg chappel is not a great coach....u should have gone after ian chappel....india need a good bowling coach....

instead BCCI should make a 20-80 performance based payment scheme to them - only 20% of their pay should be guaranteed, another 40% based on individual performances and balance 40% based on team performnace ...

YES.
BUT WHAT AFTER THAT?
RESPONSIBILITY HAS TO GO ALONG WITH ACCOUTABILITY.
HOW?
DRAVID be removed from CAPTAINCY and ODI-Why?
The worst captain-
could not control SA from 6 wicket down for 76; finally SA made 275.
Any 18yrs child can do better job.
He made 63 in 103 balls and it is equvalent of 184 in 50 overs. This means he played for his retaintion in the team but not for win of INDIA.
HE SCORED +50 for 63 but SCORED (NEGETIVE) -100 for playing TEST Match in ODI.
The net score of dravid is (negative)-50. This means he can play TEST but he shall be removed from ODI side of INDIA.
Shri DHONI be made CAPTAIN- Why?
He scored 55 in 48 balls, this is equivalent to 344 runs in 50 overs. Therefore he played for win of INDIA. HE GOT 50 FOR SCORING 55, and 100 FOR PLAYING FOR WIN OF INDIA and not mere for his retaintion in the team.
THEREFORE DHONI WITH 150 MARKS OUT OF 100 WILL THE CAPTAIN IN THE NEXT ODI
Shri DRAVID WITH (-)50 SCORE SHALL BE DROPPED FROM ODI AND RESERVED FOR TEST ONLY.
This is one example.
What others?
pay proportion to performance
if team win alright, if not remove 2 bat'mn, 2 blrs, 1 all rounder, keeper (if did badly).
if could not win series;
remove captain, coach, selectors, BCCI,
Make a fresh selection of the team.
IT WILL CERTAINLY WORK.

sack all, find new players from the nation which is not difficult... train them for some time say years... don't play any matches during this time.... pay them for every run they make... every wicket they take ... bring them to senses
