The homeowners insurance will pay for everything. It's why as a home owner you carry insurance, just have your boss call his agent and explain that he and his friend were doing some roof work or hanging lights whatever and then give it to the emergency room. he should carry at least $100,000 worth of coverage, and tell him his rate won't jump so not to worry. Get your hubby fixed up and split the deductible. Everyone's happy.

If your husband was doing it as a favor or just helping out a friend, then the homeowner's insurance should cover it. If your husband is a professional roofer, he should have insurance to cover accidents. Either way, I believe that the person who caused the accident should be the one to pay for the damages. If your boss pushed him, he should pay (and do jail time). If your husband fell due to his own clumsiness, he should be financially responsible.
The bright side is, it could have been worse!

- If he is helping, I think the friend is liable. The renter's or home owner's insurance would cover this.
- If he is a licensed contractor, no.

But...the friend should be nice enought to offer.

And...if the person has the money, they should admit it was their fault for being clumsy and just pay for it themselves.

I'm not sure on the reg.'s, but I think anything about 5 feet and you need to tie off and also have (1) man on safety. (Honestly...no one cares about safety....very sad.)

Note: You never, never, ever want to work for friends or relatives. (I keep saying this too, and keep getting in trouble myself. It is very hard to listen to that.) You don't loan money to any friend you don't want to lose, and the same goes for work.

Construction is prone to accidents. Anyone in that field knows that. Anyone...It is expected. If you start sueing everything that moves, don't plan to be getting much work.

OH BOY!!! Your boss' home owner's insurance should pay for it. UNLESS, your boss hired your husband's company to do the job, then your husband's Workman's comp. should pay for it. If it was money under the table or a favor, then the boss' insurance is responsible.

If you have health insurance you can fore go all this mess and just leave it to the health insurance company to pay. You can ask your boss to pay for deductibles, but I wouldn't push it unless you are ready to go all the way. (i.e. possible losing your job, having to sue and going to court)

Good Luck and Take Care

Your bosses' homeowners insurance policy should cover it. You would need to get an attorney.
