It is because you have USB keyboard and mouse.
You have to enable USB keyboard and mouse support from your BIOS first before you can use them.
Here's how you set it:
- First you need a PS/2 keyboard to enter the BIOS
- Press Del when computers start (When checking memory precisely) to enter BIOS
- Go to Integrated Peripherals
- Make sure that USB Controller, USB 2.0 Controller, USB Keyboard Support, and USB Mouse Support are enabled.
- Save the BIOS settings and restart
- Turn off you computer
- Now you can plug your USB Keyboard and Mouse then turn on your computer!

The same thing happened to me. So instead of using the on-board usb ports, i got a pci usb card and all is fine now.

If the kb and mouse are usb based, make sure they are plugged in nice and tight.

FYI - expand your memory to 512. You will be much happier.

If your computer is not working properly while you are working on it, it could be a problem with device drivers, hardware or software.
