Instead of asking a lot of question here why not come and see yourself.

I can tell you one very interesting thing, ask any Japanese to teach you JAN KEN. I am sure no one has ever given you this advise. You will like it.

Well, some of the places are: the Kamakura National Museum in Kamakura City, the Meiji Shinto Shrine and the Taketori Park of the legend: Taketori Monogatari or Tale of The Bamboo Cutter.

Tokyo--Tokyo Tower, Imperial Palace, Meiji Park and shrine.
Mt. Fuji
Kyoto--Nijo Castle, there are tons of castles but my favorite is kinkakuji
Hiroshima--Peace park and museum, Miyajima Island
Some other cool cities are Nara, Fukuoka, Sapporo, and I highly recommend you do some outdoor things.

the japanese invasion on asia, hiroshima, war sites etc. which reflect the cruelty and the beastfulness of the japanese soldiers like the Nazis and the naviety of the japanese citizen who believed their king is a deity -- and that happened not that long ago -- only what, 60 yrs ago!
