The prior answerer is right, but I'd be concerned about the dark colour of vanilla altering a white paint. There's also peppermint extract, which is colourless, but this could make it attractive to kids and pets... An alternative is to spread baking soda in a plate and have a couple in the room. Spreading it thin increases the surface area for more odour absorption, it is cheap and harmless. And it works. It's not too cold to leave a window cracked, and if you use the alternate, vinegar, don't mix it with the baking soda; it'll only fizz, and this reaction turns it into saline: plain old useless salt water! There's also a great product I've mentioned before: "Nil Odour", which can be found in hardware stores, and possibly in the drugstore, in that section where the old-time remedies are sold. It only takes a drop dispensed here and there, and it really works to get rid of odours.

I've always heard about urinating in the paint to make it stick better but, I'm not sure how that will help the odor.
