I am a police officer and have been for 11 years. Legally it is wrong (as you say!). Bad Guy! Don't sell drugs!

Now ethically... That's an interesting question.

I have always thought that there are both personal and social ethics that should be considered in any situation.

Socially, I imagine that people would widely consider selling drugs unethical. Selling drugs means you are creating drug users. Drug users are a drain on society. They get sick and need help, they are incarcerated, they steal, etc. By selling drugs you are creating a problem for society as a whole and therefore doing something to would be socially unethical.

When it comes to personal ethics, that is a question that each individual would have to consider. I say it is unethical because you are creating and contributing to a major social problem.

I suppose if you were all about your own interests (making money for example), didn't care about the social problems drugs create and took the stand of "they are adults and what they do is their decision," then you would probably see selling drugs as ethical.

If you're talking ethics, I would think it ethically wrong to sell drugs to anyone who does not understand their harmful effects. Even cigarettes have warning labels on them, but you don't hear of drug dealers saying, "Sniff this, but it might kill you." Morally, it is wrong to give someone a drug that will certainly cause harm, regardless of their age.

I would also think it is ethically wrong to sell controlled substances at all, because you are putting the buyer in a position to be prosecuted for possession.

I know exactly what you are asking so don't hide behind the liberal BS doubletalk. Do you think the rest of the people reading this question are so stupid as to answer your question. Believing you are doing a "study" on ethics ?

Selling dope is agains the law- there - "I went there"

Yes, if you can expedite the prospective ruination of someone's life for the sake of financial gain, that is unethical

If you know it's illegal....and you do....then yes, it's ethically wrong.

Now....."Is it MORALLY wrong?" .....That's a good question.

Absolutely speaking, I don't see anything wrong with it. But personally I think it's a despicable decision to make and would never do it myself.
