Just block the number, your service provider can do this for you if you don't have the option on your phone.

Most phone services have a number like *67 where you can put it in after each call then the police can call a special number and get the name and number of the person signed up with the phone even if it is pay as you go. Now if the person lied on the application you will get the false info. Here is what you do. tell people you have a new cell number and give out different numbers to diffent people. make the numbers real phone numbers of people you know. if some one gets a call from your friend then you will know at least what area of your life this person is coming from.

Unfortunately MOST cell phone companies cannot block your number from anonymous callers, nor can they tell you where it came from. Technology hasn't gotten that far yet...
I had to put a canned message on my voice mail using someone elses name ( like a business name) and let the phone ring through to it for a couple weeks. The person eventually gave up and quit calling.
If and when you do find out who it is...you can report them and the phone company can prosecute them for telephone harrassment. It is against the law to keep calling someone against their wishes. So there is something you can do...but you have to find out first and then prove it.

Ugh, I hate these. I believe there are some phone plans that disallow/block anonymous numbers. Talk to your phone company about this. If this isn't true for your company, just hit the ignore button.
Sorry about the harrassing calls. I was getting them from an 800 number for several months. I finally answered it...and it was my cable company offering me a BS deal. Try answering if you haven't (although I'm sure you have). It may not even be the same anonymous that called your old one.

If you are in the UK and have a BT line, have you tried to talk to someone at BT and arranged for you calls to be intercepted?
I had a problem several years ago and BT sorted it,every time someone called me the BT Operater answered the call and asked who the person calling wanted to speak to.
Most of them spoke to the operator but whoever was calling didn't speak and put phone down and the nuisance calls Stopped.............It sounds like it's someone who really knows you and your movements............probably an Ex or even a member of your Family......Are you Ex Directory?
Ring your Phone Company and see if they can Help.
Good Luck.

This sure does sound like someone that is close to you and that you know well. Someone that you you wouldn't even think of.
Go through your "friends list" and try to determine who has a Pay-As-You-Go Plan, or maybe a friend of their's who has one and is using their phone (this person sounds like they know how to stay hidden by using the technology).
Wow, I don't know what else to tell you, but perhaps someone out there can help.....

Because of the design of the "cellular" network. Each tower has a coverage area, hundreds of square miles in the country, less in cities. This area is called a "cell." The tricky breakthrough was to figure out how to "hand off" calls from tower to tower as the phone moves from cell to cell.

Sounds like this person knows you quite well. If I were you I would check through the phones of people you suspect of being guilty. You need to check if your name is stored on their phone & when last they called you.

Call up your phone company and ask them if they can find out, or block all private calls on your phone.
