I can connect an S-video cable to the back of my PC. I want to set up a home security camera with a motion sensor to record on my PC. I cannot watch TV on my PC. I can download video from my comcorder onto my PC through a USB cable.

I have WINDOWS MEDIA PLAYER.
Does this mean I have Windows Media Center?

Just try depressing the "print screen" key while you are looking at the video. If you have one it should capture and play back.

Look at the back of the PC for any audio/video input (RCA) or coaxial (cable) input connectors. If you have connectors like this, you probably have a video capture card.

Don't confuse input and output connectors, many new video cards can connect the PC to a TV, but that connector is not for video capture, it is output only.

If you have Windows Media Center - Most likely YES
Any other windows - NO (most likely).

Take a look at the back of your pc and see if you have any jacks to connect TV cable, sVHS or composite.

Look at your video card. If it has any INPUTS then yes you do. Then you'd need to check if there is a video capture software installed.
