Its happens to every PlayStation 2. the best way to fix the the problem is either A; send it to Sony and let them fix it (which is expensive ) B take it a part your self and clean the laser head.
if you wanna clean it your self.. it is simple if you decide you wanna do it your self let me know and i can give steps on how... or you can search for it on yahoo.
P.S. Smackdown vs.Raw 2007 is a very good game!

You probably have an older PS2 and the laser and mostly all them went bad and did this to millions of people including myself. You can take apart your ps2 and clean the lens with alcohol or something and hope it works, also a clean game is better. look up DRE on a gaming forum and it will tell you all about it and what to do.

The disk read error, also know as DRE, is an infamous PS2 malady. It means your PS2 has reached the end of its life and needs to be replaced or repaired. :(

this happened to my ps2 for a long time, and i was about to buy another then i got some canned air and: open the disc tray, then spray the air in for a couple seconds. try the disc. it should work. if not, try again. good luck!

If the disk is scratched it might not read or if you have your PS2 standing vertical try laying it flat and trying again.

This happened to me two days ago and i can ell you you PS2 is done you can replace it (get the slim one) or take it to a store and get the laser fixed

The one at the orphanage did that and thomeone thaid that the PTH2 could not thpin the dithc fatht enough to read it properly.
