It seems like all the people that I know that are divorced are divorced because the husband cheated. It is so sad that so many people don't honor their marriage vows.

Now it is really not important who is cheating the Him or the Her.
The question is Why?

I would attribute it to the availability of free access to such media which dignify this to jus make a few dollars.!!
Imagine u are having a simple meal and there are freebies from the best hotels in the town....Tempted...Yes.. only to be Doomed.
Our lives are becoming more materialistic, we are bound and attracted by the body than the soul.
Its not something very new, it probably is there since mankind but the channels to cheating were few in the past....but now it is jus another business.
Such sane questions are some hope to the world be saved from dooming.

This is not a new phenomenon. Spouses have been cheating for millennia.
However, I do think that it is on the rise, mainly because we understand marriage differently than we used to and that we don' t understand the meaning of the word "chastity".
Marriage has become whatever we want it to be. And for most, that means that marriage is a temporary financial/legal arrangement between two people who love each other. Once that love is gone, so is the arrangement. After all, love is all that matters. If two people love each other, you cannot stop them from marrying. If two people don't love each other, you cannot stop them from divorcing. That is the world we live in.
But we understand love to be an uncontrollable feeling, that comes from some unknown place and returns there mysteriously.
Secondly, if men and women are conditioned their entire lives to sleep with whomever they want (as long as they do so responsibly) and to always gratify every sexual urge, it is impossible to expect them to change a whole lifetime of experience once getting married. After all, if we are taught that the highest good is to freely express ourselves sexually, with no rules, then we won't exactly be overjoyed about the marriage vows. Yes, for a time we will be satisfied, but at the first (or perhaps second) fight or long absence, or just because of boredom, our former self will reemerge and we will satisfy our lusts elsewhere. Unless we prepare ourselves from a young age to have control over our sexual desires. But that is so old fashioned.

it is sad that so many marriages end in divorce and that many of them do so because of infidelity. while it is a fact that more men cheat than women 22% to 14% IIRC is about the norm. on statistics(which is likely on the low side because of secrecy) the rate of female infidelity is actually rising faster than male infidelity. many bielive due to more women in work force in possitions of leadership. The sad fact is people are being raised in a world where sex and adultery is all around them. Look at any magazine in the checkout line. odd's are the cover is describing the big fling and impending breakups in hollywood. TV, movies etc. and we have become desensitized to it as a whole. And it isn't the taboo it oncew was. I know of three marriages that ended because of infidelity.( including my own ) The wife was the one that cheated in two of them. It is easy for the circles we run in to influence our outlook on subjects. There really isn't much possitive to be said about it other than watch your back because it's a rising trend in the world today.

It is sad but true I would also say alot of women cheat to and move on that way, also its not just men anymore. I don't think many people honor there marragie vowels because its to easy to get a divorce. They should start handing out dating licenses and after 10-15 years you can ge ta marraige one.

I could never cheat on my wife. She is truly the one thing in my life that drives me. I really don't know how men or women can do it i could never look at my wife the same way again. You may look at my questions and some of my answers and i would say that for the most part they are B.S. I really think that a spouse that cheat be it physically or emotionally is about the lowest thing that one person can do to another. Marriage is about trust and to break that trust is truly wrong.

a simple question but very hard to answer. and it seems to me, that not only husbands cheat, but wives do too. why do people start having affairs after they get married? probably due to human nature - might be out of a natural feeling, out of curiousity and probably stress. it has many answers. i used to look down on people who cheat their partners. but after sometime, i realize i'm falling into the same hole myself. that is when i begin to understand why such things happen. it's hard to explain. it's a nice feeling to have someone else who cares for u. and it's not so stress when there no commitments in the relationship like hard financial etc. that keep pressuring u down. adult life is just crazy.

It's probably the age group you are in now. I don't think anything has changed in the world. There just seems to be a stage in life where people are more susceptible to temptation. Some can resist, some can not.
If you are truely committed to your marriage and accept your vows you won't have anything to worry about.

Lately??? I believe the whole cheating thing has been going on for a looooong time but to answer your question cheaters are selfish and have absolutely no respect for the sanctity of marriage. My thing is if you are not ready to settle down and be with one person then don't get married.

I am in my late 20's and all my friends are getting divorced. Every case has been that the wives were getting some on the side. It's been found that women are more likely to cheat than men.
