Hi, I need some help. I am a cutter, and I have an important drs appointment Tuesday. It's with my surgeon, and I need away to hide the cuts on my thigh. (I've had 4 hip surgeries, so that['s why he'd be looking at my thighs) I'm not here to be judged or to want attention, I just need advice because i'm scared that my Mom is going to find out and my doctor is going to call a social worker

I used to be cutter. To tell you the truth their no way to hide it!
Stop cutting yourself before it controls you!

if you feel some sort of apprehension or are scared, then obviously you don't feel good about what you are doing. Maybe its a good thing to have your doctor call a social worker.. You do need help.. Its not in the human nature to want to mutilate our bodies.. for what? attention? I really think secretly you are concerned and want attention otherwise you wouldn't have posted this question in the first place...

I used to cut. I haven't cut since July. My psychatrist made me sign a petition that if I do again then I have to go to a mental hospital. But, there is not really a way to hide it.. You could try putting cover up on it but it might like hurt maybe if it's a fresh cut? or you could just put bandaids over them and tell your mom and the doctor that you fell or something.
But honestly, I think you should tell someone.
If you cut you really really honestly need to talk to someone and I'm telling you now that you need to stop.. I know it's hard.. but believe me.. it makes things way worse. Next time you want to cut snap your leg with a rubber band. or put your leg in a bucket of ice. believe me.. you really should tell someone. I dont knwo if you are talking to a psychologist or anything but if not I suggest you try talking to one.. because if you are doing this you need to. I know it's helped me a lot. And i really hope everything turns out okay!

Well I work w/ children who are cutters and when you cut yourself it is a way to seek attention b/c cutters never cut deep enough to hurt their self and your mom should call a social worker you need someone to talk and whatever you say to the social worker is confidential and can not tell your mother....same for the doctor he can not tell your mother(if he sees the cuts) there are laws to protect you....but you need to find someone to talk to and eventually talk with your mother!!!!!

i never did it but my best friend did for yrs. And there is no way to hide it where you cut at. Way would you do it where the doctors will see? Anyway i think you need to find out way your doing it and then try to get some help before it to late. My friend did it for 10 yrs and she got help when it got so bad the she almost died from it. All of my thoughts are with you.

I hope, for your sake, that your doctor will speak to your mother and get you some help. How could he have not already seen the evidence if he performed surgery on you?

I say face it! Well talk to your doctor, your doctor wont call a social worker, maybe suggest counseling for you. Just face your doctor. Maybe talk to your mom first?

ive neva met anyone who cuts their thighs,,, id say it was ashaving accident... ive neva cut, but a few friends hav been 4 yrs. good luck, maybe u should talk to someone about Y ur cutting,,, & then u could stop... dat would b good... i dont think they'rs rellly neway to hide cuts,

im sorry but i hope that he does tell your mom because im worried...after cutting your self ,your problems are still there and they will be there...it doesnt help, all you have is a bloody thigh and ugly scars and scratches to show for it. you will soon regret this...and when you do, remember me.. god is your answer (jehovah god)...when you are ready go and pray to him....he listens and he will help, but you have to try to help yourself too...that shows him that is what you really want... he's waiting...god is a god of love,happiness and forgiveness..he wants to help...may god bless you and your soul....plz think about what i said

The doctor wont tell your mom but he might try to help you. Say you were raped, but he will probably know.
