I'm looking for owners of the PS3 to tell me how it is. Is it worth the hype/price? whats your opinions on it?

I read 4 reviews from people who got it or have spent at least 10 hours on it. They all gave it either a 4 or a 5..out of 10. I thought I wanted one and have loved Sony til now, I think I may have decided to get the Xbox 360 instead. For the price your paying you might as well get the 360 since it has almost every sony game and then some. graphics arent any better, some have overheated, controllers motion sensing stuff is crappy and just trying to copy off others designs (Wii).
One review was from a Sony lover and basicly, the PS3 is a big disappointment. I hope they fix the problems, maybe ditch the blu-ray and make it cheaper.

No gaming console is ever worth the hype at the time of launch. Most launch titles aren't that great traditionally speaking. The system's true worth is determined TWO years afterwards once game designers become familiar with writing code for the new architecture.
As we've seen in the past, Sony always prevails in the end - only Nintendo has a comparable gaming library.
I got my PS3 at launch and I've been impressed with it so far with no issues to report. The Bluetooth SIXAXIS controllers work flawlessly, the browser could be better but that will be addressed with the release of YellowDog Linux for the PS3 [release date: 12.25.2006]. I haven't noticed any overheating during heavy gameplay either.
The only thing I don't like about it is that it's DUST MAGNET - that glossy exterior shows every spec of dust.

the ps3 is not the cats pj's.the only good thing about the ps3 is the blue ray dvd player.also they messed up by taking the feed back (vibration) out of the controller.gameplay is a little better with the addition of the motion feature in the controller.THAT'S the only good thing... your best bet is to go with the wii.have fun fellow gamer.
