I do not see how you can say that look at what your Union did to our people at Johnson's Island (northern Ohio); Camp Douglas (Chicago); and Elmira (New York). May-be for New Years you can use these feelings to get an apology and memorial for these boys!

God Bless You and The Southern People.

There is no easy answer to this question. If you are interested in looking deeper into this issue, I would recommend reading a book called Seduced By Hitler. The Choices of a Nation and the Ethics of Survival, by Adam Lebor and Roger Boyes. Go to your local library or bookstore, and browse through books on the Holocaust and you will find other books that attempt to answer the question you have posed.

(What about this question: if we allowed this to happen once before, what's to stop us from allowing it to happen again--for example, in Darfur?)

All it took was enough people to be willing to commmit such horrific deeds, and enough people to look the other way, to blindly accept that the government was doing what was best without questioning the morality of it. As for it happening agian...It hapend int he past...and WILL happen in the future. (Some even think it is beginning right now...)

Bad things happen or are allowed to happen by good people. Why? Many reasons, not the least of which include apathy, fear, greed, and blindly following the propaganda and policies of those in power. The holocaust could always happen again, especially where propaganda and manipulation by despots occur.

The definition of "HOLOCAUST" is derived of Complete & Sacrafice. It's the reliance of Reason & Morality in the absense of Faith and what is known to some as Absolute Good or "Rightiousness"

While some men reason and dwell only in "pure philosophy" the draws down the path of "the measures of the quality of life" and decide for others what life is not worthy.

Others are unable to face their fears and stand up to a powerful corruption of power that held in it's hands: LIFE & DEATH.

The elements of dispare were so evident and it was thought that one could deliver all but in reality power always invites evil and once its hideous head is reared it is all over with. Jim Jones did it and it is festering right now in many parts of the world.

Germany's economy was in a pitiful state and then suddenly a man comes to power and says he has an answer.

First they came for the Socialists, and I didn’t speak up,
because I wasn’t a Socialist.
Then they came for the Trade Unionists, and I didn’t speak up,
because I wasn’t a Trade Unionist.
Then they came for the Jews, and I didn’t speak up,
because I wasn't a Jew.
Then they came for me, and there was no one left
to speak up for me.

BECAUSE THIS IS SATANS KINGDOM UNTIL THE END OF TRIBULATIONS. YES, IT COULD HAPPEN AGAIN AND IT WILL. THE NEXT TIME IT WILL BE MUCH WORSE. YOU EITHER SUBMIT TO SATANS POLITACAL PLATFORM, THE NEW WORLD ORDER, OR YOU ARE KILLED. THAT SIMPLE. ITS ON THE FORSEEABLE FUTURE.

GOD BLESS
