No. It is a campaign marketing ploy that many people have fallen for...or maybe I should say...they WANT to believe it...it gives them a reason to complain.
I mean two years ago we heard the administration ruined our economy...now its hitting new highs and we don't hear that.
Spin, baby, spin.

Yes, but only by inference. Bush said his reason for Iraq was Saddam was a threat to the region. But, by his own estimates Syria, North Korea, and Iran were more of a threat than Saddam. He did not go after the biggest threat, he went after the easiest target. Plus, he lied continuously about Iraq, even to this day. If you are correct in your reasoning, there is no reason to lie as it undercuts your argument and your support. If what he said was true, why has none of it come to be. If we were liberating an oppressed people from a horrible dictator, why did they not welcome us instead of fighting us door to door for the last three years? Bush has sought disorder to allow the plunder of another nation. If you read you can see that at least a hundred billion dollars have "disappeared" from Iraq, at least 70 billion US dollars have disappeared on Halliburtons Watch, and Iraqi Oil is sold on the black market in the hundreds of millions. So if we are not setting the Iraqis free, why are we there? There were no terrorists there until we invaded.

What you need to do is do a web search for PNAC....Project for a New American Century. It is an actual group like the Heritage Foundation, etc. Then look through that web site to find the plans they drew up for Iraq, before George, Sr. was even president.
If that doesn't convince you, nothing will. BTW, Dick Cheyney was personally involved in that plan...his name is there.

Would you believe it if Mr. President himself told you that? He said, ''If Zarqawi and [Osama] bin Laden gain control of Iraq, they would create a new training ground for future terrorist attacks," Bush said. ''They'd seize oil fields to fund their ambitions. They could recruit more terrorists by claiming a historic victory over the United States and our coalition."
I am sure that you can find the video on You tube. The article is here http://www.boston.com/news/nation/articles/2005/08/31/bush_gives_new_reason_for_iraq_war/

Simple.
Ask yourself.
If the national export of Iraq was *garbanzo beans* ...
... would we have spent 2872 American lives and $345 billion on a war there?
