My eyes change colors all the time. They usually start off in the morning blue with a golden-hazel ring in the center that tends to stay there almost all the time. My eyes usually change color three to four times a day, usually keeping the golden-hazel ring in the center, excpet for a few times when they turn solid green or a grey center with a blue outline. I'm not sure why they change colors, and i've tried to do a self study, but mood and surroundings dont seem to effect it, it's just sort of random. Any thoughts?

I don't know but mine do the same thing. Mine are dark green most of the time with a brown ring around my iris. Sometimes a little more brown comes out(more hazel). I find that it depends alot on what color I wear or what kind of a mood I'm in. Strange really.

There are chemical changes that affect the body throughout the day. Also there are chemical changes that can be added to the body that can change eye colour.
Firstly the type of food, or the number of coffees, the internal pressures of the eye or medication can alter the eye colour.
I know, from personal experience, suffering from high inter-ocular pressures, that the eye drops I have to put in my eyes are darkening their colour. I also have noticed, if I drink coffee, my eye colour changes. Also, as the drops I use wear off, my eye colour lessens in intensity, the rays becoming less vibrant. After using the drops, the colour just bursts.

Blue eyes have no pigment their color is due to iridescence. Brown eyes do have a pigment that colors the iris brown. Green eyes are somewhere in between. They may result from smaller amounts of the brown pigment mixed with blue from iridescence. As others have suggested the levels of pigment may change due to blood pressure, hormone levels, pupil size, etc. Brown eyes may under go these changes but the base amount of pigment is high enough that we don't notice.

The main factors are the level of light in the room making your pupils expand or retract. Also your blood flow cause by excercise or your mood. Look at them when you are really calm, and when you get really mad. You'll see a difference.

Every one seems to have green eyes. Is that something to do with the drastic change?
