x2=x1/2, y2=y1+x1/4, z2=z1+x1/4
x3=x2+4, y3=y2-8, z3=z2+4
x4=x3+z3/4, y4=y3+z3/4, z4=z3/2
x4=y4=z4=16
z3=z4*2=32
x3=x4-z3/4=8
y3=y4-z3/4=8
x2=x3-4=4
y2=y3+8=16
z2=z3-4=28
x1=x2*2=8
y1=y2-x1/4=14
z1=z2-x1/4=26
So the ages are 8, 14 and 26

Let's work backwards.
In order for the three sisters to have 16 dollars at the end, the oldest had split half her unknown amount equally among the younger sibling and middle sibling.
Thus before the oldest girl did this, she had 16 + X silver dollars.
When she gave half of them to the other 2 sisters she had 16 left
(16 + X) - 0.5(16 + X) = 16
16 + X - 8 - 0.5X = 16
0.5X = 8
X = 16
Thus she had 32 silver dollars before the split.
The youngest and the middle ended with 16, of which 8 were from the oldest sister. So the youngest and middle had 8 before the older sister split hers.
Before this, the middle sister had 8 + 4 + 4 = 16, the youngest had 4 and the oldest had 28.
Before the youngest split hers up she had 4 + X silver dollars.
(4+X) - 0.5(4+X) = 4
4 + X - 2 -0.5X = 4
X = 4
The youngest therefore originally had 8. The middle had 16-2 = 14 and the oldest had 28-2 = 26
So the ages were 8, 14, 26

There are 48 coins total.
Girl 3 has to give away 16 and keep 16. She gives them to Girls 1 and 2, who then have 16 each. This means Girls 1 and 2 had 8 each, after the prior distributions. Girl 3 was given 26 silver dollars. After dist'n 1, she had 28 and after dist'n 2, she had the necessary 32.
Girl 2 has her 8 as a result of a giveaway of 8 following a distribution from Girl 1 of a quarter of her silver dollars. Girl 2 was given 14 silver dollars. (Got 2 from Girl 1; Gave away 8 (4 each))
Girl 1 has her 8 as a result of a giveaway of 1/2 of her gift from her aunt, replenished by 4 from Girl 2. But Girl 1 also has 8 when the final distribution from Girl 3 takes place, so the 4 from Girl 2 must just replace the half she split to Girls 2 and 3. Girl 1 was given 8 silver dollars.
Youngest sister = 8
Middle sister = 14
Oldest sister = 26

that is an insult to math geniuses.
the oldest has sixteen after giving half (16) equally (8). therefore before that the younger two had 8 while the oldest had 32. before that they oldest and youngest had recieved four a piece meaning young (4) middle (16) oldest (28). before that the youngest had twice(4X2=8) and the older had two less (14), (26).
so
8, 14, 26 => 4, 16, 28 => 8, 8, 32 => 16, 16, 16
