My GF has been in training to become a cop and has been very stressed with tests and alot of physical fitness and a change of diet. I trust my GF when she says she has not had any sex since we were together last. At this point she is about one week and one day late.

Thank You

My GF has been in training to become a cop and has been very stressed with tests and alot of physical fitness and a change of diet. She has had her period after the last time we had sex, and it has been well over a month since the last period. I trust my GF when she says she has not had any sex since we were together last. At this point she is about one week and one day late.

It is normal for any female to have a late menstrual cycle because of stress, but other things can delay menses as well. A prolonged hot bath, or the opposite, very cold bathes can do it. It is unlikely for it to be a pregnancy due to the time involved. But remember that there are many physical factors involved and even diet may be part of it as well as the stress. However, an EPT is an easy way to determine if a pregnancy has occured, and if so, the she must take care about exercise as strenuous exercise could lead to a spontaneous abortion.

You can skip a period for all kinds of reasons, but you have two culprits operating together here - stress and lots of physical exercise. I would suggest that she go on the contraceptive pill - your period comes at predictable times, and of course, you have the pregnancy protection (if it is taken correctly).

I want to add - even if she doesn't go back to being regular or skips a period on the pill, it doesn't mean pregnancy. It could be any combination of things.

Stress and a change in diet/exercise can most certainly change a woman's cycle. That's why so many women who try so hard to conceive can't seem to get pregnant. They stress themselves out about it. If your girlfriend goes another month with no period I would suggest she see a doctor to rule out any physical problems and pregnancy as well.

Stress could definitely be the culprit in her period being delayed. The human body is very effected by hormones (and stress releases hormones) so I wouldn't worry unless she's like "clockwork" all the other months.

Yes, stress and extreme exercise can interfere with a female's cycle, but she should go to her OBGYN asap to get evaluated. Jumping to the conclusion that she could have been unfaithful is not a good thing to think about just because she's late.

Yep. Stress can do anything you can think of. Really. But so can screwing. Do a home pregnancy thing.

What makes you think she is not pregnant with your child?
