I knew someone would begin saying that eventually. I'm not a Steelers fan at all. I could care less about football, but my opinion is this. It takes more than one player to win a game, and it takes more than one player to lose a game. The entire team is not in sync. THAT is why they're losing.

no, if you look at the statistics it would appear that way but if you watch the games then you can see the offensive line is giving him no protection, the recievers are dropping good passes, special teams is pretty much a joke, and defense may be performing the best, and that's not very good. There are a lot of problems with the steelers this year, and i'm sure they will overcome them. To put everything on ben's shoulders is really unfair he's got a lot of talent once the entire team improves i think we'll see that. He had a rough start to the year because of the accident and appendix........and concussion, but i think that's over and now it's time to stop blaming him and start looking at everything else that's going on with the steelers.

There's this term thats been used loosely over the past few years called the "Super Bowl Hangover". Ive never been much of a believer in that until now.
I think the Steelers got really full of themselves and reality has now slapped then hard.
Its been said a million times, when you win the Super Bowl, you have that big red X on your back every time you play someone. No one wants to beat anyone worse that the defending SB Champs. The Patriots were able to evade the hangover but I attribute that to coach Billacheck. Bill Cower didn't quite get it done.
So the way I see it, the Steelers came into the season with their noses in the air and every team that has taken to the field against them wants nothing more than to beat them.

Don't blame it all on Ben what about the Steelers defense? I do believe the accident and the surgeries Ben had have affected his play. And when he did get injured they brought him back too soon.
Charlie Batch played well and could have played for Ben after the concussion and the appendectomy.

No, it helped hurt the first few games. It took him awhile between the accident and the appendecomy to get the back in condition. Then when he was back to form he ended up with that concussion and took a game or two to get back in shape. Then there you had that game today where Baltimore just put all that pressure on him and he had no time. The season has been a cross of injuries, an underperforming O-Line, Cowher not being mad. Lots of things have been causing problems.

It really could not of helped but it is not the main reason for the big step back this year. Jerome Bettis retired and the really miss his presence both on the field and in the locker room. The Steelers were also dumb enough to let Antwan Randel El go to the Redskins. I think there were a few other personnel loses too... they are simply not as good as they used to be. I hope that they can turn it around though... football is better of when the traditional powers stay that way. And I hate to say this too, but the Seahawks really got jobbed in the Super Bowl. Pittsburgh really should not have even won.

No I think more of what's hurting them is bad play on special teams and his line is just not protecting him. Ray Lewis and the Baltimore defense did everything short of build a tent in the pocket today.
All year the special teams has been giving the opponents far too much field position on kickoffs and punts and dropping the ball returns. You cannot give up plays like that and expect to win.

It sure didn't help. Ben's accident along with his appendectomy have slowed him down drastically this season. Remember, he missed most of the preseason.
Another problem has been a lack of a bruising RB. With Bettis gone, all the carries have gone to Willie Parker and he is not a 3rd and 1 type of back. Along with their defense, which is playing horribly...

No. He was never a great QB but he was a smart QB. He didn't make mistakes last year and lucky for the Steelers, they hurt Palmer early in that game or the Bengals would've went to the Superbowl. Now that they need a great QB, Ben's experience is showing through and they are terrible. They need a better QB.

Their problems this year are definately not on the shoulders of one player, they have been underachieving as a whole unit. I do think they let Ben come back to early, but thats only one of many problems.
