Ok my friend put a whole new case for this computer. + a CD and DVD driver and another Hard Drive. We installed WIndows XP Professional or what ever u call it lol. And he hooked up everything back up and installed all the new software, But i dont have sound anymore this kinda of mother board has the sound built into it. We even tryed installing a new sound card but still not sound. Anyone know how to fix this stupid computer??? lol It really sucks watching videos with no sound + this computer has alll my MUSIC!!! :(

hi, dont worry here is what you need to do.
1. Check out which Motherboard you are using. In general intel Boards are common. www.support.intel.com. ( If you can just give me mother board name i will be able to find Drivers).
2. Download the drivers from the vendor's site. and install it.
WORST CASE :
If this thing wont work. Install a fresh copy of windows xp with Service pack2. (Reformat the drive). Install the Xp from a different cd. Dont use the current CD that you have. You must have Service pack2 atleast.
2. Then try installing the drivers.
3. What If you dont know your motherboard model. here is what you need to do.
a. Check for the motherboard Box if you have it.
b. Opent the computer Casing. And the read the model number on the mother board. It should be printed in the middle.

Find your driver CD given by the manufacturer of the motherboard company. There should be sound driver software which need to install to work sound properly.

Maybe the problem is with the actual song and nothing to do with itunes, are you able to play other songs? Or is it just the 1 song you are having problems with? Maybe you need to download an audio codec to play it.

if you don't have the driver CD just go to the comps web page and go into downloads - drivers and utilitys - and download realtek AC 97 audio.

my friend, you might have accidently knocked a thing off the motherboard which undid the speakers or maybe you need to buy new speakers or you might have disconnected something on the modem.
