aside from the other great answers, make sure your pants aren't pleated at the top (it draws attention to the midsection) and make sure there are no cuffs at the bottom because that "cuts off" the pant making your legs look shorter. Make sure they're a boot-cut or a wide or straight-leg or a flare...if you need a belt use a thin one instead of a wide one (also "cuts off" the pant) and heels are key. If you can't wear heels then try a skirt that stops midcalf (but not too low cause it can make legs look bulky) or higher, capris, or go for the pinstripe. Either way, make sure your shirt doesn't come down too low because it will make your legs look shorter thus making you look shorter. You could always go with big hair if all else fails!! =) just kidding on that one

Wear a pant that is all one dark color. Or all one material that is darker or has a small texture to it. (like a tweedy type material)
Make sure the legs are not tapered, have them straight legged.
Wear a 2-3 inch heal with the pants. Make sure the pants hang low enough with the heals.
Stand up tall.

funny I read this answer today in Life and Style magazine..they were talking about Beyonce they suggested Bootcut pants that didn't focus so much on a high waist but a lower hip cut this takes focus away from the hips and puts it more on the length of the legs

Wear a shorter length fitted blouse with a pair of belted pinstriped dark colored pants with heels or ankle boots.

Buy straight legs pants, not a flare at the bottom, that will make you look chopped off.
