Are there any other insects that use blood in a similar way, such as those sand flies that bite your feet and ankles, or only mosquitos?

did you know that it's only female flies that bite you for your blood?
mosquitos have very short lives, and the female mosquito uses its short life for the sole purpose of reproducing.
they need the blood as energy for her offspring and the nutrients from the blood to reproduce.
i don't know if other bugs do that, they probably do, as there a lot of bugs in the world that we don't understand.
