This helps: Take a dry fabric softener sheet, and rub all over the clothing. There is also a spray that you used to be able to buy for this. In a pinch, such as having it on a skirt you are wearing, you can spray hair spray on the underside of the skirt, etc.

RE:
Is it possible to remove static cling from dry clothes?

You can buy a can of that in your laundry aisle. Bounce rubbed on your clothes will do the same thing and get the static cling out.

If it is pants or a skirt you can put a safety pin along the inner hem. If not then they sell sprays that remove static cling.

You can take your fabric softener sheet and wet it thoroughly with water and toss it, and clothes into dryer for 5 to 10 minutes and tadaaaaa!!!!!!! No more static.

Fabric softener sheet will do the job. There are so many uses for these sheets. Take frizz out of hair, put them under your potted plants to repel insects, take used one and pick up alot of dust, use them in off season stored clothing to repel moths and give a clean scent, dog or cat comes in stinky, rub a sheet down their back. The list goes on and I do work for Bounty. I just like things that work!
