I'm thinking about renting it, but I want to know what others who have seen it think of it. What are some other good recently release movies?

yes i've seen silent hill....
i can't say i liked it. i usually like horror movies and all that, but this one wasn't "scary" it was... gory. they burn people and chop off people's heads.... i had to watch all of it becuz i was at the movie theater, but if i'd rented it, i would have stopped watching it maybe after the first hour.
fuzzy ending, too.
so i wouldn't suggest that.
i don't know who you're watching it with, but here are some good at-home movies (recently released and not so recently released):
*Monster-in-Law.... uniquely funny
*Sisterhood of the Travelling Pants (dont know how old you are)
*Monster House (if you have kids)
*the Grudge... has been out for a while, but still thrilling.
*The Ring... seems like you liked horror films... am i right?
*March of the Penguins.... inspiring
*An Inconvenient Truth
*Da Vinci Code.. if you havent seen it already
*My Big Fat Greek Wedding.. always funny. award-winner
*Ice Age 2

I can't belive some of these answers....that movie sucked big time! It was such a waste of my time and money.It made no sense what so ever. I love horror/suspense movies but this one took the cake.I heard it was based on a video game so, maybe if you are familiar with that...it might make sense to you. I really enjoyed that movie called "The Decent" and "The Covenant" were pretty good. Also the" Saw" and soon to be added" Hostel" are worth the watch if you can stomach it..... ;)

Well its not that great of a movie but good thing about it is it follows the game. Also it helps explain more about the game, so if you want then go a head. The only thing I liked about it was the effects and characters.

i have played all 4 silent hill games wich number 4 the room hade nothing to do with the town silent hill but it was still scary but the best one was number 2 where u play as an truck driver who is stuck in the town silent hill its really creepy and ur #1 enemy is this wierdo named primade head his crazy,freaky,wierd,creepy and u usally cant tell what his doing like one time it looked like he was trying to rape some one i mean its wierd game u should check out number 4 the room good game well i liked it.

Ive considered this action picture... dont think of they could make pc video games into video clips, i think of all of them died interior the twist of fate and entered yet another spooky length, yet its open to interpretation. a greater robust action picture (not which you asked for one million!) is an American Haunting, i presumed this had greater of a narrative line and greater communicate...

the movie SUCKS, it is a total discredit to the series. as it contradicts the game and is full of God Awful agendas

silent hills awesome..its real scary. depends on what u are going for..if u are going on demand, i suggest getting that if u have never seen it

yes i thought it was horrible u couldnt understand what was goin on it was like 1 of those psychological movies, i didnt like it at all
