the pill is 99% effective and you will be protected. but i per fur that you try the birth control shot that's 99% effective too, also the better advantage you have with the shot is, you only need to get the shots every 3 months and after the 3rd time getting the short (i heard from my doctor) you stop having periods. Verses the pill you have to take daily and if you don't, or forget to, then your not protective for that day.
Go for the shot.. it's worth it.

there is no safe birth control the pill is only 99% affective.. still 1% chance and I know girl who have got preggo's while on birth control... so if you two wanna go all the way have him wear a condom just to be on the safe side.... An i really hope you are old enough to make this choice... because most people wouldn't ask this question..... just extra protection unless you want a baby.... an plus a condom will protect you against STD's

Yep, a... not 100%, not even close. My daughter was coneived on the pill. My best friend...two of her three children were concieved on the pill. I (and she did too, lol) got an IUD (internal uterin device) if you haven't heard of it before, google it. Is much more effective and can stay in place for five years. It is SOOOO nice not to have to worry about that any more!

If it's been a month or less on the pill, you should use the spermicidal foam. Actually, you should always use the foam, even if you've been on the pill for a long time. It's safer to have more than one line of defense.

The Pill is about 95% effective. It's that other 5% you have to worry about.

If u take the pill every day. don't skip even 1, they are suppose to be 99.9 effective. they do not prevent std's and only a condom will keep u from getting sperm in u.

Well, I'm another one whose pill experience has given me a child...Needless to say, I've now switched to a more effective birth control method. But, I'd have to recommend doing research on Depo Provera, a birth control shot.
