An episode of Bullsh*t on HBO viewed a few "martyrs" under a very negative light. Gandhi was accused of some pretty volatile and downright DISGUSTING things. Does anyone have any info on this?

There is a lot of evil propaganda about mahatma Gandhi, mostly from the British and Americans because they still cannot digest the fact that a frail old man could command millions of Indian's into non violence movement against the British raj, and actually make it happen...
You should read FREEDOM AT MIDNIGHT by Dominique Lapiere to know the true Gandhi. When Gandhiji died, the last viceroy of India, Lord Mountbatten remarked "we have lost another Jesus from amongst us" ...

gandhi like mother theresa and churchill are seen as "heroes" but in reality were absolutely shockingly disgusting, revolting people who have some very dark and sickening secrets. A google search will tell you some of the things these lunatics actually did and some of the things are just plain sociopathic, the type of stuff you'd hear a serial killer or a pedophile doing.
They paraded under the name of heroism but were actually depraved psychopaths that got their kicks off from death and suffering. They really reveled in their power and their weak, brittle minds were eventually corrupted by the amount of power they held. These people were no better than Adolf Hitler, Joseph Stalin, Pol Pot , Saddam Hussein, etc.

Gandhi certainly was a racist. His comments on Africans and lower caste Indians were pretty direct. He thought Aryans were the master race, and was a supporter of Hitler. As for his sexual perversions, I don't know how anyone could defend him.

Lol at all the people here claiming that it's not true. Ghandi admitted to having slept with girls under the age of 13. He said it was to see if he could remain celibate. A bunch of the girls later reported that they performed sexual services for him. By any modern definition, sleeping with 13 year old girls "to see if you can remain celibate" is pedophilia, and he would have been imprisoned for it in any modern judicial system.

He probably was, to an extent at at the very least, sadly. @MissUniverse, I agree with you, but he was probably fighting for the freedom of Indians exclusively *mainly because he was living mostly in India and that was what relevant to him more than what was happening in America. (In fact I don't think he ever even visited America.) But I also wouldn't be surprised if he was a racist, to be honest. Sad.

I read a lot about him back in high school, and Penn and Teller are right on the mark. History is all about a point of view, and it depends on what you are reading. But yes, he was both a racist and a pedophile.
Most people today only know about him from the Ben Kingsley movie. But Gandhi wrote and described about his own life and philosophy. From his own words you will get to know the man.

I would go to a library. Start tonight by reading the Wikipedia entries on Ghandi. HBO I would think is not well disposed to non-Western figures, and the intellectual caliber is low.

Expand your vision. HBO is hardly the end all. Gandhi was one of the most spiritual humans to walk the earth. Much like Jesus and MLK.......and I'm not a Christian or AA......Although libraries are a dying breed....try a book. It lends itself to quiet, uninterupted introspection.

doubt there was anything to it. He was an extremely honorable person, so either they just think what he did was wrong or their info is scewed. He had many enemys you know because he successfully dismanteled the English empire.
