I have a 9yr old daughter who's so into Barbie & Bratz it's not funny anymore so I know what we'll be getting her.....having said that though, if she wasn't into the dolls I know she'd be equally happy with the following....
A pink or purple bike complete with matching head gear
A Collection of Disney Princesses DVDs
A Collection of Barbie DVDs (there's the Barbies again...LOL)
Roller Blades
A Pink or Purple laptop (if that's possible)...likewise an ipod of the same colours (can you tell she likes pink & purple...LOL)
A compilation of her favourite female artists CD (Beyonce, Shakira etc)
A Guitar (she's getting into music and wants to play an instrument)
I think it would be best to choose something for her working around what her interests are as all kids are different and enjoy different things....
Good luck with your decision and have a Blessed Christmas
Peace!!!

I would highly recommend the Nintendo WII. It is hard to come across (I got mine at a midnight sale) BUT if you get your hands on one you're in good shape. I have a cousin that's 10 and a sister that's 11 and they both love the new system. The WII is inovative and very family orientated. Sure the controller's and accessories may cost a lot, main 6" controller-$40, nunchuck (needed for most games) $20 but in the end it's worth it. If you can reserve a WII so that you can get your hands on one.
Your Welcome!!!

I think those craft and hobby kits would be cool for someone that age. Like--the friendship bracelets, the beads,
