Guess it depends on how old you are, and who bought the computer?
If you're a minor living at home, she has the right, and the repsonsibility to insure that you're utilizing it properly, especially if she bought it and is paying for your internet access.
Otherwise, it's a password thing. I think you already knew that, and also knew that if you changed it to deny her access, she'd take it away....
Just don't do anythng foolish, and you've got nothing to worry about.

Take a vital cable to school.

Seriously, see if your bios supports password booting, it will ask for a password at each boot, and it's only openable by backdoor passwords (& yours) which she probably won't know to search google for "bios backdoor password"

Click start>right click my computer, manage>system tools>Event viewer. There it will tell you all sorts of good stuff like under security it logs logon/off times.

Be smart and delete your cookies+cache+history if you have something to hide. But if she checks and sees it's empty, then she may start worrying so I suggest you go out and buy a USB flash drive and install the firefox portable app. All your cookies, cache, everything is stored only on there - even the program it's self, so when you remove it and close the program there is no trace. Then just carry that flash drive every where you go :)

Even store your questionable files there too.

If you really wanna get sneaky and have a card reader, get a SD Card - they are so tiny I'm sure you got 100 spots to hide it like in a book.

And about that cable thing, all ATX power supply's have standard cords so if you take that she could just get another.

And BTW if you do decide to go with PFF, disabling Session Restore really does speed it up.

if she needs to use the computer just set up a seperate account for her. she'll have her own unique screen name and password plus have her own desktop. and you can set the permissions of what she can and cannot see/use on the computer. and as the master user you can monitor when the other accounts have logged in and for how long.
it's like employing parental control for your parent.
hope this helps.

I don't know about kepping her out the only thing I can think of is changing the password or telling her to stay off.
