So we should just throw all morals out the window and go by what is most cost effective? My tax dollars should pay for your abortion because you were too poor or lazy to buy a condom or just too irresponsible to care if you got pregnant?
What has our society come to that we are actually even reading a question such as this?
God have mercy on us all!

Some countries pay for abortions (such as Iceland where approx. 50% of pregnancies result in an abortion).
Adoption is a wonderful choice. There are also community reach out centers that help with education, work and child care to get the mother back on her feet.

The government can supply medicaid for the woman while she is prego and then she can give the child up for adoption. My opinions on abortion are irrelevant here, but I still say that gov't should not and hopefully will not pay for abortions. There are too many woman who use abortion as a birth control method.

There are options other than abortion. Women can get welfare and they can get them to pay for schooling and day care so they can get a decent job, the guy can go out and work 2 jobs to take care of his child. It is not the baby's fault and why should they have to suffer because their dad is too lazy to get off their butt and be a dad!?

The best reason why we should eliminate welfare in all its forms. Too many people cheat the system by indiscriminately making babies then sitting on their a** collecting a welfare check.
I refuse to pay for the consequences of someone's scr*wing around.
You want to have a baby, be prepared to pay for it out of your own pocket and accept some sort of responsibility for a change.

Why should the government have to pay for people's own unability to keep it in their pants?????? I swear! so basically what your saying is that we should be allowed to do whatever the hell we want, with no consequences, and that the government should pick up the tab??? I mean why stop there, why don't we give the government the permission to kill those who perpetuate ignorance, like you, then they wouldn't have to pay for education. They could save money that way too, LMAO!!!

if you are planning on abortion let me just say there are other ways... if you don't think you will make a good mother then you need to sit down and really think long and hard what that would mean... you carring a sweet perious baby inside you YOUR BABY no one elses... when i was pregnant i was so scared cuz i knew i'd be a single mother at the age of 20 and i almost thought about abortion and then i felt him kick for the first time and omg i thought i would die if anyone ever tried to take him from me... i look at his face now and kick myself for ever having those thoughts... my sister and brother-in-law would love to have another baby but due to medical reasons they can't, my sister loves kids so much she still volunteers at a local elementry school twice aweek and nither one of her kids go there... and i'm sure there are more couples in this world and even in your own town that are just like them... i wish we could talk more i'd really like to help you so please feel free to email me anytime....

If the gov't paid for abortions then it would become a form of birth control. I understand the idea behind it, but its a twisted thought.

I don't like the words "cost effective" being used when you are talking about human life and innocent babies.
And I think you mean exponentially....
One word....Responsibility.
