how could i find research on this topic where do i search, where do i start how do i start? this is a subject im covering for school any ideas anyone?

I'd say they are probably more political than economic. But politics and economic are practically inseparable.

From an economic standpoint, look at the groups who most gain from re-enforcing racial stereotypes and constantly shout claims of racism. NAACP, DNC, Jesse Jackson and AL Sharpton's various groups. All these organizations need the concept and belief that there is racism in American to flourish, so they will have supporters willing to hand over money.

You're looking at the wrong science. You should begin with natural science. Humans are animals first, merchants second. Genes determine what we are. Money determines merely what we can buy (assuming that supplies are available for sale).

Half economic, half low expectations that are fulfilled, and half a century ago whites had more rights. Now i would say rights are about equal, minus personal judgement, yet outcomes are often unbalanced.

see if the census bureau has any Data.

You may also want to look at the economic data without race in consideration. I feel that if you look at poor people in general you will see that it is hard to get out of it.
